FWIW, the Z1000 is the "cheapest" 1000cc motorcycle sold in Thailand, and it's been a good seller thus far. But indeed, if the Z800 becomes available here for ~3xx,xxx, I could see it biting into sales of the Z1000... Time will tell!sierradelta;285176 wrote: I would look seriously at a new Z800 if it was more “competitive” on all aspects.
But a new “domestic made” bike that is heaver, power restricted and has much less warranty and has an estimated price of 399K Baht I believe is not “competitive” to its closest overall market competitor (the Ducati 795 @ 400K THB)
Kawasaki Thailand must target the price for the Z800 between the Ninja 650 (269K THB) and the Ducati 795 (400K THB) thus a price for the Z800 should be closer to 335K THB
Otherwise they are just wasting their time.
Also, surely with the “domestic” Z800 being released the need for the “imported” Z1000 is no longer required at the ridiculous price of 591K THB !
But, all is still pure speculation until Kawasaki Thailand pushes the first Z800 onto their showroom floors and put the actual for sale price on it.
Cheers
