Whats the riding is like in the Surin area?

I've only ridden through Surin enroute to visit some people in ThaTum, which is about 75km north of Surin. Surin is just another cosmopolitan Thai city (IMHO), but below is a link to a ride, through that area, that CaJim (who owned the CA2 bar in PPenh) that may be of interest to you.
It's the first article appearing in the paper and a ride I want to duplicate.

Thanks not far from Udon at all. looks like a good palce to play tourist and have another adventure before the rains. Cambo sound interesting as well, but I'm not ready for that yet.

You would be hard pressed to find nicer people then Issan folks.

I found about Khmer sites on TAT and asked them to send me info and maps. They really are good about that if you just ask.

Have met a few riders from the area and it woudl be fun to share some adventure with them
