Hi everyone!

I'm a long time forum viewer, got info about most of a beautiful routes from here. Now I'm decided to add my five cents to community and post some videos from different routes all around Northern Thailand. As trip reports forum and top routes threads are mostly text and photos, maybe it's a good idea to add some moving pictures..
Maybe this post will be more suited to trip report forum as it filled with route only videos, but I hope David move this thread if I posted it wrong =)

Disclaimer: if video is short it doesn't mean that all other parts of a route are boring. It just means that i turned off a camera for some reasons or road conditions became bad (road works, traffic) or I just stopped by and later forgot to turn camera on again)

P.S. if you watching these videos just because enjoying riding and not for info, it's better to turn the music you like at the background =)

Watching all these will keep me from riding for a few days. 55
Nooo after these videos you should wanna ride more))

I see you ride a variety of bikes.
Are these rentals or your own bikes?
All rentals. I'm not living in Thailand but lucky enough to spend my vacations here

What's your favourite 1. ride & 2. the best road in your opinion.
If we speak about videos above, then favorite ride will probably be the downhill from Doi Phu Kha national park, route 1256. It was late February, dry season slowly starting, not much green around, but i kinda really like this ride. Almost no traffic, just listening music and going down turn after turn in comfort pace. And it was my second day on V-strom 800)

Best road... tough question. For the views its for sure route 1333. But you need to ride it in green season.
For pure riding joy it was 1148 for a long time. For now it's probably 1256. And 1083 from intersection with 1243 to Nan river bridge (Google Maps). Oh, and 1092. And I want to say thank you for info about this route =) Saw your comment last winter where you say that you preferring 1092 and not 1148 going to Nan. I was wondering why and check this route in February and it was really great)

That should be R1091, not 1092, I think.

1092 =) This part Google Maps I really enjoyed riding here, very comfortable corners and elevation changes, you just flow through them. But this part is short =/
1091 is also great from intersection with 1120 to Nan but most of my rides here I'm eventually stuck after some trucks or pickups with very little chance to safely overtake. Same with 1148.
Actually a lot of routes can be the best for me in the right moment with a right mood, weather, traffic and road conditions. Ask me again year later and I'll name other routes)

Ah yes that 1092, 1192 is a fabulous ride too.
For me 1091 is the only way to ride into Nan. Going eastwards. Pong - Chiang Muan absolutely rocks for a technical thrash on the bits of the old road left.
Take 1148 returning from Nan, going westwards.
Totally agree on the best rides, mood often decides how great you feel riding it on the day.

And some roads are so much better going in one direction.

I'm usually have troubles trying to find small towns and villages on google maps) Are you talking about this part? Google Maps If yes, i rode there in the middle of February and don't remember any problems. After intersection with 1251 is already a new wide road with a fresh asphalt. You can land a small aircraft there if you good at cornering)
Agreed that 1148 is more interesting westward. There is a pretty nice uphill and mesmerizing downhill with a view to Nam Ngim lake and a cliff right after it.

And some roads are so much better going in one direction.
And sometimes it is one road that is better in opposite directions from some point) Like 1256 is great in any direction from 1715 viewpoint. But not so interesting on the way to this viewpoint)
