Thanks for any help.
This map, though slightly outdated, shows all the main BKK shops and lists other shops which provide various services.

Go to the site below...then click on the Shop list...at the top of the right column to obtain the map and list:
http://www.bkkriders.com/

Note: bookmark the site above and use it to future access the link to the map. You cannot have a bookmark that is directly linked to the map. [At least I couldn't...]

I have to put my vote in for Red Baron also. I bought the Honda Fury through them. I had my book in less than 3 weeks. I have herd that they have a good shop but have not used it. I had done a lot of research on the Fury before I bought it. I talked to Wikrom about the 1000 KM service and he told me all that was needed was oil change and thats it. Well since I know thats not right and I know what Honda recommends I decided I would continue to do my own work. So now I am in the market for a good bike jack. If anybody knows who sells them send me a PM.

Generally at the 1000km service it's just oil and filter and inspection, no? What else does Honda recommend?

Lets see at 1000 KM or since the shop manual I have is in Miles lets say 600. Other than oil change they suggest checking the torque on all the bolts and check the Valves for proper gape. It don't look like you need to go into the final drive yet just change the oil on it. Nothing on the drive shaft at 600 Miles.

Hi Friends,

I think my question will fit into this thread being about the reliability of Bangkok shops and their ability to obtain the famous Green Book aginst fee payement.

At present, looking for a HD (in fact 2, one for a friend of mine, establishing in LOS, and one for me) and thanks to few GT-Rider forumers I surfed on several Harley Davidson sites and found some very interesting bikes, prices and shops.

When phoning to this people, most of them tell you that their bikes are with no plates and no Green Book but they told as well that this is not a problem and that they can provide this service through their agent, they say that they import aq lot of bikes each year and they are use to do such paperwork for their customers.

As along the years I saw so many issues with bikes having no Green Book and owners into problems, I would like to ask for your advise, comments and experiment (if any) of such issue as well as:

-How does it work when buying such bikes to an importer
-What kind of papers should I ask for
-Can we trust "a Green Book Agent"
-What are the costs and delay of GB obtention
-Is there any paper (invoice, seller statement, GB Agent statement or others) which could "allow" to ride during the delay of GB obtention without having trouble
-Do you have ever heard about people getting this GB easily through such way
-What are the basic paper I should require

I know that such questions should estonish you from a Revered Old Git like me but leaving 9 month a year in Europe and only a too short period in LOS, I prefer to ask for your latest feedback and experiment.

Aopoogises for all who will think that it''s again a borin question on Green Book, this is a dilemma for me.

I am not really the one to ask. I have bought 3 bikes all from dealers. The one bike I thought I would have trouble with I had the GB in 3 weeks and the plate as soon as I picked it up. The others took 3 and 5 months. I think that if I was to buy a bike from a dealer with no book or plates I would hold back some of the money until I had it.
I have walked away from several deals when I was in the market for a big bike because of not already having the GB. It would seem that if you are a legit dealer you would already have GB and the bike ready to roll out the door for the customer. But in Thailand things are different

I read a post not to long ago about to Harley riders getting there bikes confiscated in a check point on the way to a biker meet. There will be more posters that know a lot more than I than can give better advise just be carful.

Hi azoulay,

if you stay only 3 month in LOS every year, don't bother buying a bike without paper. select one with paper, and enjoy the ride. I have heard and seen many friends for the last 15 years having nightmare because they could not get their greenbook after paying, and paying and paying, and again , and it never stop.and they never get their documents...
Red Baron is as good as any other shop, sometime he can deliver documents fast, sometime not, but be carefull if you deal with him like any other shop. In pattaya you can go to see Gareth at Pattaya superbikes, he is as good as Red baron in Bangkok
you can check his website if you want to seel all his bikes : Link removed

Enjoy the ride

Many on here will know of K. Pat who is the excellent Pirelli dealer here in Thailand.

If you don't, you are in for a pleasant surprise as both K. Pat & K. Charlie aim & succeed in giving a first class service to customers throughout Thailand with, where possible, overnight shipping.

If you are BKK then they will professionally fit & balance your tyres for you. :)

Their shop is a way down OnNut Road

Run by a K. Nui & her brother K. Yay, you are likely to see high end Lambos, Ferraris etc. They aim to give a good service for a reasonable price.
350baht for a big bike.

They actually listen to you not to use jet wash on bearings electrics, horns etc.

They are located along Rama 4 behind what used to be Carrefour and now a Big C extra

Hi Friends, Hi everyones,

Once again, I can only recommand Red Baron and Kun Vikrom !

The serious of this shop and the quality of their services have to be known even if during hese lath 3 month in Thailand I only had good "surprises" with bike dealers that I will relate in respective further posts (BMW and Harley Davidson).

I bought few years ago a Suzuki DRZ 400 at Red Baron and was 500 % satisfy, the book came in due time as engage by Kun Vikrom, the after sale was perfect;
Since I bought several accessories according to their arrivals and promotions and was also allways satysfy, so what else ???

I used also Dirt Shop, not so far from Red baron, they are specialised in Off Road bikes despites they display from time to time some wonderfull Ducatis, up to now everything OK with them apart the price level which is much too high on accessories.

On an other hand, I would say that there are more shops to avoid than to advice, especially in Bangkok and Pattaya area where you'll find a lot of scams on Green Book, bike origin (restamped ones) and bike conditions

It seems that the On Line Bike business is developping quite fast in LOS and few web sites are of interest for those who can read/understand Thai language. I did experienced it 3 month ago with again satisfaction, please see Harley section.

How to find the shop:-
Basically you pass the Kaisakorn, Indian Bank and UOB.. It is a tiny little Soi on the left.. Most likely you will pass it as cars / pickups block the view until you are past.
It is not visible from the road and you over shoot like we did. The Soi bike taxi's will wave you back to the right direction.. One even rode with us to the front of the shop..

Haha yep!

It's a gem of a shop so well worth a visit.

If you visit their webpage http://320sp.com/ and have a look on the left hand side of the screen in English you will see 'download catalog 8.0'

It's a PDF file with their products and prices.

Hello Guies,

I want to recommend one shop/workshop I used recently. This shop is named Friendly's Riders.

Thum is managing this shop dedicated to mods on big bikes with a focus on electrical work. Thum is very good when it is coming to anything electrical on the bike; installing extra lights, leds or to deal with anything electrical on the bike. He is doing a very tidy work, first time I see that in Thailand. He is patient and paying real attention to details. I am so glad I found this shop which was recommended to me by a friend.
They also do all sort of mods and are selling gears (exhausts, parts...). He has a Versys himself. Very nice guy, speaks a little english.

Location:
SR Park - On Thanon Prasert Manukitch (Nawamin)
Btw Soi Muban Saranrom and Soi Maha Sap
Klungkhum Bungkum 10230 Bangkok
Tel: 086 544 9768 or 087 004 6688

You will see it is located around a small plaza where you have other shops, Club 517 Superbike, Black Steed selling nice gears and Rabbit Bikes.
If you come in the evening it is actually a big meeting place for Big Bikes, where riders come to have diners in the restaurants around.

I added the description and location of those shops in The Thailand Motorcycle POI Map
