My lunar calendar has November 19 as new moon - Hmong new year 2026?
November 15 is a Saturday- the weekend. So perhaps we should start looking out for Hmong New Year festivals around then?

I'll keep my eyes open.
I was in Thoet Thai enquiring about festivals but didn't get any info on Hmong festivals as of yet.
 
A Hmong clothing trader in Chiang Khong says late December is Hmong New Year.
So that should be new moon on 20 December.

Next month in November is a Hmong fair in Mae Rim, Chiang Mai.
I now think the event at Ban Khek Noi Phetchabun is most likely the same.

My contact who is a performer and compare at the Hmong festival near Thoet Thai says, the festival date has yet to be finalised, but will occur some time in November-December.

I'll provide an update when I hear more.

Kiu Khan - Chiang Khong Hmong New year, the villagers say 20 December.
The Hmong Dress Maker Clothing shop in Chiang Khong says 19-20-25 December. This Hmong family is from Saithong on R1155.

Update:

The advice I now have is the village will celebrate around 20-25 December .

No poster or public info available yet.

I am in Thoet Thai now so will try and visit the dance coordinator and get more details.

Some Hmong goodness, today as I was riding through the Hmong festival village closest to Mae Kham.

I stopped and chatted to this musician, using sign language. He was open to my interest. Super surprise and experience for both of us. Love it!

Laos - Phonsavan - Hmong New Year.
The biggest Hmong New Year starts at Ban Yuan, Phonsavan on 19 December 2025.

"The first 7 days from 19 December will be bull fighting competition, bull fight, beauty pageant traditional sports. Otherwise everyday people just come to have a conversation between boys and girls during tossing the tennis balls, they will dress in traditional costumes shine and bright."
