FREE Non Commercial GPS Map - Garmin

One problem has cropped up. When using Nightrider map, and climb up to a high elevation, the GPS unit powers off. Remove battery, wait one minute, reinstall, and it will power up. But as soon as the bike moves, power off. Descend to a lower level and it will start up and stay on. Anybody have this problem ? Bad download maybe ?

suited for older GPS units. The roads are styled to resemble Basecamp style.

suited for newer GPS units. The roads are not styled.
Save the map to your Garmin's '\garmin' folder in the internal memory. If you like to put the map on your unit's memory card the map must be in a folder named 'garmin', this 'garmin' folder must be in the root folder. If this folder does not exist you create it.

hi guys , i am new to gps technology , i have a garmin montana 610 & loaded basecamp to my imac , montana & basecamp talking no problems , however when i try to add the downloaded files above to my basecamp they are not recognized , am i doing something wrong ? any help greatly appreciated ..cheers
With the loss of Nightrider's valuable OSM maps for SE Asia, I was looking around for a replacement. Earlier this month, I found it. OpenMapsChest.org uses the same OSM dataset that Nightrider used and it updates every week. The weekly updates include a .img file for the Garmin SD card and a gmap file for use with Basecamp. I've tried them on my Zumo XT, Zumo 396, and Basecamp on my iMac and all have worked just fine.
