Chiang Saen – Chiangsan Golden Resort
I did not survey all lodging possibilities from GT to Chiangsaen but found “Chiangsan Golden Resort” of reasonable value. It is not on the rim of the Mekong but at the foot of the hill of wat Chom Kitti, in a quite environment. Rooms (800 THB with 2 breakfasts) and bungalows (1200 THB) are available. There is also a covered (against sun) swimming pool.

VIANG YONOK HOTEL & RESORT
owned by GT Rider Ianyonok
Relax in tranquility and feel the magic of beautiful Chiang Saen Lake.
Stay in your own lakeside luxury bungalow, with views across the water to the rolling hills and rugged mountains of northern Thailand.
Enjoy great-tasting Thai and International meals in our lakeview garden restaurant.
Rejuvenate your body and spirit in a private sports club, with emerald swimming pool, modern gymnasium, meditation terrace and sauna.
Ian's place is pretty unique, plus he's a biker & musician. It's well worth an overnight stay to appreciate the beauty & location beside the lovely Chiang Saen lake.

Ian is also a bit of a muso & rock star

Service & hospitality & food was excellent, such that Trevbart & his missus had a 2nd night there.
Check the Viang Yonok out for a night (or two.) It's different & it is good.

Spent a night there on David's recommendation, and it's a good value, conveniently located for an evening walk and a meal along the river's quai. Wifi provided in the rooms.

Gin’s Mekong View Resort&Spa

Located on the main road, at the northern entrance of Chiang Saen, on the Mekong river side.

Slightly more ‘upmarket’ than a basic guesthouse, but worth the upgrade if one can take advantage of the facilities and spend more that just a couple of sleeping hours. A swimming pool is available for hot season and the view over the Mekong is enjoyable. Wifi available in the rooms.

The restaurants provides breakfast (included in the price for 2 pax), and is conveniently open for diner with a view on the river.

Prices start at 1000 THB is low season, 1200 in medium and 1500 in high season
