What's riding northern Vietnam like during May?

I'll be entering Vietnam on the 11th of this month at Tay Trang on a Honda Win. Would love to see Sapa and the northern region for a week or so before heading to Hanoi and booking it south from there. What's the weather like in the north? I've heard
