Wat Pa Bun Boek Fah is a Temple in the Tap Tao District of Chiang Rai


David Unk made me aware of this Temple a few weeks back as it is only 11km from my place, he asked if ive been there before, no was the answer so ive been waiting for a day with blue sky to go and take a look. Google maps took me a back way to the Temple, unsealed roads that were in fairly good condition, when I was nearly at the Temple there was a bitumen road coming from the direction of hwy 1155, I went home that way and the roads were great, all bitumen, picturesque riding through the rice fields, not sure whats going on with that as the short cut was not even on google maps, didn't look like a new road either ?


When I arrived at the Temple there was one locked gate and a bit further up the hill a 2nd gate was open, I rode the X-Max inside and parked up to go and have a look, there was a few scooters parked up and one friendly dog, I had a look around for 45min or so and never saw anyone


Looks like its work in progress with more construction going on up the hill, or should that be mountain, certainly gave Heinekens legs a workout going up the hill, nice views from the upper levels though

Wow. That's pretty impressive alright.
Thanks for checking it out. I must go take a look too, once the gates are open.

It never ceases to amaze me how much money goes into some of these wats in out of the way places.
That abbot must have some charisma, & "boon."
