It was repaired cheaply, & ran well as ever & handled as good as new after the repairs.
The next day homeward bound it was - straight through! Even I was a bit surprised.
Now the bike took a big hit & needed a new front end - forks stanchions, wheel, discs ++.
The frame however was straight & believe me Liam & Tim did a perfect rebuild & suspension set up.
I've never felt so comfortable riding a Vstrom. The bike rode like it was on rails, smooth, perfect comfortable suspension. It was just too easy to ride & still is!
Special thanks also go to Ohlins in BKk for the fantastic rear shock that works like a dream. I'd been having trouble getting my suspension set up properly with a few rear shock issues, but I believe we have finally nailed it, thanks to Tim & Liam's expertise, with the brilliant help of Ohlins Bkk.
In July 2023 I hit a huge pothole in Vientiane, blowing both front fork seals.
I got the bike back to Chiang Mai, & had the forks rebuilt.

It is still not perfect & needs re-aximing, but I cant afford the downtime, living in Chiang Khong, so bought another Vstrom the same model.
Spotlights, horns, Ohlins shock were taken off the old bike & put on the "new bike,"
If I was still living in Chiang Mai I would have had the old bike fixed, kept the riding it the same,
But it is too much trouble from Chiang Khong.
Hence the sale & cheap price.
The motor in this bike is a beauty & better than the one I bought.
The bike is in Chiang Rai @ Kong's motorcycle shop.
