Popped into Palm House yesterday & we are on for 10 rooms there @ 500 baht + 2 at the Piya @ 600 baht. (Noel Akers & I have the Piya rooms.)
The guy at Palm is nervous about the booking, as we cancelled this planned ride last time. So please dont let me down gents!

The weather here in MHS is absolutely glorious & it's generally still quiet tourism wise. Not many farang around at all - in MHS.

Well I certainly looking forward to it. I am happy at either GH, so if you need to get additional rooms at Piya, I am happy to move. The additional 100THB isn't going to break the bank after 10 days in Phuket with The Wife, The Kids, My Mum, the whole disaster... peng mak mak...

Cheers,
Daewoo

Excellent stuff David , that looks great.....I remember this day vividly on our way down to Umphang , when we had a heavy duty squall which ripped the branches off trees and gave us lots of obstacles to get around....another brilliant ride, Chang Mai to Phuket....in fact it was the last one the 3 of us ever did together.

Take care but enjoy every moment ......this ain't no dress rehearsal.

A message from Tomo in the UK

Hi David, those of us from Bournemouth, UK who met and knew TJ a little will be with you in spirit on your tour.
I only wish we could be there to ride with you and pay our respects to these old friends & fellow bikers.
Will you please raise a glass to them both for absent friends in MHS?
Bon voyage.
Bob.

BREAKFASTS
We are a largish group so I would suggest you
1. Not all expect brekky at the Kafe when we leave. Have breakfast before rocking up to the Kafe, ready to leave at 9AM.
2. Same same in MHS for breakfast. One small restaurant the Salween / Crossroads / won't be able to handle it all; so we need to be flexible.

Have a safe fun ride over & don't forget your "woolies". It's cool here in the North & (most places now at a guess.)

:) :) Re brekky, The Kafe staff have now been told to roll up to work at 7.30AM & get the doors open by 8AM ready to serve the needy. This is a far cry from their sabai sabai 9 AM opening.

Hey David
Chiang Mai is easy, most can have brekky before we leave.
But should I pack a big packet of Weet Bix for MHS.
Or can we organise a big cook up on a guest house bbq before we go.
On the road I love a good breakfast before I head off.
Looking forward to the ride.
