Well ive been back in Chiang Rai a few weeks after riding my own Honda NC750X from my home in Chiang Rai through Laos into Vietnam for 20 x days and then returned, roughly about 6500km and took about 25 days.

I was part of a group of 10 riders organized by Amazing Thailand Touring (Mike Gagne) and DT Travel (Dzung Nguyen), awesome ride, so many great memories.............................3 of the 10 riders including myself did a similar ride 3 years ago, with the same organizers, back before we had heard of Covid :mask:

Here is a video of our holiday put together by DT Travel ;)

Awesome trip Heineken. You certainly covered a lot of grounds.
What do you reckon were the top 3 highlights?

1/ The satisfaction of taking my own bike crossing 3 x countries. (And setting it up for extended touring before I left, I took alot less luggage than my previous ride there in 2019)

2/ The mountains and scenery in Northern Vietnam, just spectacular, Thailand has some nice mountain roads, Vietnam is just so much better......................................sometimes just day after day riding through picturesque mountain roads (and being careful to keep looking ahead aswell, a lot of the roads do not have safety barriers)

3/ DT Travels itinerary which was custom designed for our group (with Mike Gagne's input) realistic travel times, only twice we arrived to our hotels after dark...................every 3rd or 4th day is a day off, ideal to get washing done while we go on tours & boat trips (all included in original tour cost)...............................having been pre booked into all hotels, just walk in and we get handed a key to our rooms (no check ins) :)

Looks like a great trip!

Any chance to share how much the trip costed?

Yep it was awesome , even with 3 x days of riding in the rain :grinning:

Price was $2990.00 USD per rider

Starting from Chong Mek in Thailand and exiting in Mukdahan back in Thailand. (20 x days out of Thailand)

That included all meals for the trip (3 meals per day), all hotel rooms 3/4 & 5 star, entry to all tourist activities and parks, boat trips (7 in total) etc, backup vehicle with free cold drinks and snacks at any time, a Vietnam SIM card for the month, insurance in Vietnam.

DT Travel also would exchange money on any day for the going rate, Baht, Kip or USD

Not included was petrol, alcohol and Visa costs (even though DT organized all our visas)

How do you rate the food: Vietnam vs Thailand?
Vietnamese is damn good, but Thai still wins for me.

Asking the wrong person David :grinning:

I am not an adventurous eater as you know, like Thailand every meal we just kept getting plates of different food brought out, usually twice as much as we could all eat...........................I noticed seafood was nearly on every meal, especially prawns ;)

They do make excellent bread, especially baguettes which was great.

Riding through Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam on a Honda NC750X must have been an incredible experience. The landscapes in that region are breathtaking, and traveling with a group of riders probably added to the adventure. It's awesome that you got to do it again after a few years, especially with some of the same people.I've had a great travel experience myself but in a completely different location. Last year, I visited a resort in Branson, Missouri, a great place for relaxation and fun. If anyone is looking for a peaceful getaway in the U.S., check out this resort: Branson Hotels & Resorts | Westgate Resorts in Branson. It's an entirely different vibe from a motorcycle trip, but it was a perfect way to unwind and explore a different part of the country.
