hi all just back from 5300 ks tour on my good old small crf 250 , thinking i need her specially in lao- as for former purposes.... having the visas for lao and cambodia from bkk alredy- as mentioned in the last thread-- i started to cross into lao at poo doo - uttaradit - not having contacted an agency for my bikepapers. a mistake . i was refused to enter. i got forther south , to nakraseng border. big border, friendly stuff- same result. no ntry without the papers , as they cant do them on the lao side...... i head on to nong kai. 1st FB - to get to know from david, i have to contact lotus travels, they will provide the service ---- will take some 3 !!!!!!!!! days, 2000,- baht.......... what to do in nong kai 3 days, just want to leave thai to reach to lao. BUT THEN ... i find an agency , AH HONG TRAVEL... a tiny , most symphatic guy, mr DEAW ... Deaw8669 for line contact or 098 2699397 mobile ----popped in at 2pm got out at 4pm- he came with me to the border, checked all the papers called his college on the other side. she await me with already insurance sticker at the allianz insurance office . it was 5pm -- so 3 hours the whole procedere--2500 baht all in all...AND i WAS finally IN ------- can contact him in advance , AH HONG travel, khun deaw will provide for non intl - only exit borders- everything . just to let him know a week in advance , when u plan to enter like poo doo or nakraseng... could have saved some surprise and a 500 km detour via FB 1--- and the visa in advance was not of need , as u get visa on arrival ----YES I KNOW ::::: chiang khong - huaixay is different and easy... but 350 ks from my home in phrae- thats why poo doo was the plan. go pak lay and vientiane to start this years tour down south ---paksxan ((MOUMSABAI GH 150000 kip right on the khong , beside ferryort stay 2 nights ))--- lak sao -- thakek, bolaven plateau. pakxong (((( !!!!! SAVANNA GH same150000 kip , i stay 2 bights )))... pakse , always nice.. further champasak , ((CHAMPASAK WITH LOVE GH 200000 kip, on the mekong river front - good menue nice breakfast - but extra two nights , bycicle to go to vat phou next day by pushbike... no good idea...toooo far, 17ks, tooo hot ))----don khong island ( biggest of 4000 islands but woth to stay- bke dirt up n down the khong and finally croosed bz ferry to don det (( the frech train ) and lucky back from don det ferry straight to mainland , nakasang pier ( 20 min boatride ) back north to the huge bridge and back to don khong.... where i started in the morning---------- next day :::::::::: down to LAO CAMBODIA BORDER...... had one day overstay in lao :: 100 000 kip, some 150 baht AND also the lao exitstamp officer asked for a stampfee of 100 000 kip---150 baht.... i didnt argue... for what .. veun kham -nong nok khine STG 12 DONG KRORLOR ( stung treng ) --- ADVISE !!!!!!!! IMPORTANT !!!! to make the crossing to cambodia easy ::: !!!!!!!!!!! klick ---- tvs. customs,gov. kh ----------- its some general deartment of customs and excise of cambodia ------- you fill out , and you fill out a lot::: name , motobike, chassis nr engine nr foto bike front , bike back, foto passport, adress in cambodia, point of entry point of exit, when..,,,,and and-- sounds wired , but :::: IT WAS WORTH IT... at the customs they had me on their coputer, all wellm all filled out --- the friendly print it , free, and :: jumriabsua cambodia...... details follow next happy save rides sandy written today sunday march 8 2025
