Planning Laos; South To North

I'm planning to enter Laos through Cambodia and ride north to Vientianne, Luang Prabang, Luang Namtha and enter Thailand into Chiang Rai. Could anyone comment generally on the roads on this route? I have Metzeller road tires on my CB500X and I'm
