Pak Chom - Kok Phai Restaurants

An enchanting riverside location in the hamlet of Kok Phai, 3.5 kms upstream from Pak Chom.
There is a group of restaurants over looking a big bend in the Mekong.
The food is excellent, cheap & the servings huge; plus the views of the Khong are stupendous.

There are bamboo salas, & proper restaurants all within 50 metres of each other.
I was so gobsmacked by the beauty of the river I neglected to get any photos of the restaurants, however if you look at the images on the google maps link below, you can see for yourself.

Pak Chom in 1986, where the hospitable monks gave me a bed for the night (I need to add it to the list of revisits I must do)...

Golden Bamboo Restaurant

Another plug for the Kok Phai riverside restaurants.

Under cover parking to get out of the heat or rain.

Excellent food & a magic ambience beside the Mekong.

Comfortable seating for crusty old bikers

Superb fresh food from the Mekong.

These restaurants can be a highlight of riding R211.
