North Thailand Great Views 2010, Part 11
This year i had 4 weeks in north thailand, complete distance 6000km. I make some trips with 2 groups. The first group with 3 friends, the other with one friend. The loops start in chiang mai and go to Khun Yuam or Mae Hong Son, then to Pai, Thaton, Mae Salong, Chiang Rai River (My Dream Guesthouse), Chiang Rai. We rent the motorbike, a Kawasaki KLX 250 from Pop because last year good service (this year too). The price was 600 Baht per day when you rent up 2 weeks. The pictures from the different places:

Helbob, perfect reports as always but what is most amazing are the quality fotos you took, none others are matching yours in this site both for the scenery/objects and the sharpness & perfect colour balance. The ones from the Wat at night just prove this. Keep them coming !!! Rgds, Franz

Thanks Franz, i try to do my best. Sometimes it was not easy to find a good colour balance when the wheater is cloudy. The first two weeks are very clear in north thailand, the second two weeks many times dusty.

2 GPX Files of the Burma Border Tours

MaeSalongBorder.gpx, 32km, most dirt road, Start in Mae Salong goes up to armeecamp on 1700m. On the armeecamp left only a small path, not easy to see on the camp.

ThatonMilitaerstrecke106km.gpx, 106km, most concret street, Start in Thaton and goes up to also 1700m. Notice: When you can speak thai the armee let you up, if you look like a tourist maybe they don't let you up because some acciedents last time. Near the highest point the street is collapsed (you saw it on my pics), only about 10 meters a small path.

You must right klick, then save target......

What an unbelievable set of trip reports and photos.
The photos are stunning. What a camera and what a photographer! ;-)

I thought the only thing to see on Doi Inthanon was the "Highest Point" sign, but you have made the mountain come alive with your photos.
Fishenough is trying to get me to go there, and I think it will happen soon.

Thanks!

For some reason I have not seen this post until now.
It is said 'a picture speeaks a thousand words', but the photos here prove clearly that a photo speaks ten thousand words.
Nothing short of sensational!
