Kawasaki and Outdoor Thailand Camping Trip to Pala-u!

BIG THANK YOU to Khun Aek (sp?) who organized this trip and all the kind folks at Kawasaki and Outdoor Thailand who helped to make this trip such a success. Thank you all very much for your kind hospitality!

My first tour on the new Versys and first camping trip for my son. Ready to go!

Meeting at Kawasaki Rama 9-

BIG Group! More than 30 bikes! Ninja 250R's, ER6n's Ninja 650R's, a few Versys and Khun Channarong on the ZX10R!

Beautiful day- nice and cool, perfect riding weather!

Pitstop-

We stopped to tour the King's Project-

Small scale water treatment and mangrove forest restoration-

Is this a "Jorake"?

Fantastic lunch at a scenic spot near Cha Am-

Dunno what the story is with this "monster" in the ocean???

ER6n and Versys at the beach!

The Versys isn't so easy for short people! :wink:

Hi Tony nice tripreport & ride as always !!
So you really educate your son to be a biker too :mrgreen: , he even got his kids Kwaka jacket plus green soles of his MC boots :clap: .
Is he sitting on your back or still upfront while riding ?

Thank you Franz! Yep, my kid likes bikes, that's for sure! :happy5:
He rides in front of me safely wedged between my legs so that when he falls asleep he can just put his head down on the tank and I don't have to worry about him falling off.
He's nicely protected by the screen of the Versys and really seemed to enjoy the trip. There were a few support vehicles and some concerned ladies who kept trying to convince him to go in one of the cars but we wouldn't have it! Tough little kid! :mrgreen:

The ride to Pala-u continues! :happy5:

Some fun roads took us up into the hills near the border with Burma. In places the roads were a bit rough and that's where I was happy to be on the Versys instead of my old Ninja 650R. The superior suspension on the Versys does a much better job on rough roads than the 650R or ER6n. :thumbup:

Finally we arrived at the campground-

Beautiful spot, nice big tents, comfortable mattresses and warm blankets for the cool night temperatures-

Kawasaki Ride- Day TWO!

A warm cup of ovaltine is always a nice way to start the day :smile1:

I haven't been camping in a long time but I slept REALLY well! Was so much fun in fact that we're going to go camping again this coming weekend! :clap:

Everyone brought their bikes over by the tents for pictures-

Pit stop for gas-

We rode up to Kaeng Krachan National Park. Some really nice roads in Prachuap Kiri Khan! :thumbup:

My son, it would seem, is quite popular with the ladies :mrgreen:

Rolled in to a gas station that only had one attendant so we helped ourselves :wink:

My son already knows how to start the bike but here someone showed him how to twist the throttle-

Thank goodness he can't reach the gear lever yet! :wink:

Excellent lunch on a river boat- not sure exactly where we were, but on a big river near the highway to Bangkok-

After that it was a tough battle through Bangkok traffic to get home in one piece. Of course my little guy got tired, but his head down on the tank and fell fast asleep!

Really really fun! Can't wait to do it again!
