Popping on deceleration with the klx is 99% of the time to lean! The Api ecu will help richen things up. Badly fitted header pipe with an air leak can cause a bit of popping btw.

kawasaki only sell twobrother pipes which are hideously loud aswell. They are not very helpful with aftermarket parts.

The best people to talk to are the "bike Saloon" next to the big weekend market PT (tire & after market parts specialist), they are rarely open before 6pm but stay open till late. Anything you can think of to order they can get delivered from BKK pretty quickly. 5 minutes from Central festival off the Chalfa west road.
You're a goldmine of info. Thank you!
i did notice that Kawasaki didn't seem to have much there. I need to buy a rack as well to be able to transport water bottles and things (I saw your pic of the beer racks! Impressive!)

So I checked the slip on. It has a baffle that has a stronger sealant/glue so I could only remove the end piece. By the look of things, it's a straight short tube of average diameter. The sound reducer baffle pictured in your previous link seems to have two small diameter tubes joined together.
I might just force the current baffle out. I don't have a lot of tools at the point, so a bit iffy.

I also checked the mid pipe and the header and I don't see any potential leaks. Would API have various maps that could be uploaded?

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I'll definitely try to make it to the bike saloon. Assuming I can find it. I seem to get lost more often than I find my destination these days :)

Thanks again.

You can easily find the bike saloon, it's two turnings south of Central Festival shopping center on the opposite side of the road or ask anyone where the PT weekend night market is. Or call Noi @ Bike Saloon contact number is 0859 135 942.

The Delta 4 baffle should pull in & out very easily, it sounds like someone has been tinkering with your exhaust!!

APi ecu is normally the fixed box unit that advances the ignition timing a tad & richens up the fuel map & is best for you. Perfect for when you slap on a better flowing exhaust or open up the airbox with a Boss175 snorkel (from Kawasaki PT) for example.

The fully programmable APi ecu has a four pin connector on the outside, to enable you to connect to your PC via the usb. It is the best way to check if you have a fixed or programmable ecu. I had the programmable APi & it's a nightmare to use, a degree in quantum physics would help....lol
I use a power commander now, much easier!

Good luck

Thanks again for the address and phone number.
So I talked to a friend who called the distributor in Europe. I looks like there are two options when one orders the slip on. The "race" version that has the sealed baffle or the standard version that has an additional low noise baffle.

I am familiar with tuning PC3 and PC5 on the dyno but I won't even bother programming the APi with just a laptop.

Anyhow, I hope we cross path on our rides.
Thank you again, I owe you lunch and a beer. Ping me if you ever fancy. I sure would want to hear your big bore kit!

I had my public shared folder on dropbox suspended with all the manuals & bike documentaries. Thousands of downloads are apparently not allowed on a free account...oops!

PM me your email address & i'll send it to you. I think it's a 11meg PDF.

Hello,

I have a genuine Kawasaki service manual for this bike which I would like to sell as I've switched to Versys power.
The manual can be seen here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331309814395?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
I paid £80 Sterling (4,000 Baht) but will accept 2,000 Baht. It's currently in the UK but I can ask a friend to bring it to LOS next month.
Please send an SMS to 0892192484 to make initial contact. Thanks.
