Just walked by the local Honda shop and saw a SH150i in the window. Not bad-looking, it's a step-through scooter (as opposed to the PCX150i), has 16" wheels and it looks like the seating position is more "Honda Wave like". Couldn't see a price but it should be quite a bit more since it's more expensive in Europe than the PCX and probably not assembled here.
Since Yamaha doesn't seem to come out with a new Nouvo FI the SH150i looks tempting.
Just wonder if it's for sale anywhere else since I haven't read any info on it coming to Thailand.

It is made in Vietnam. Has rear disc brake unlike the one compared in the US (see post above). The first 1000 come with a factory fitted, or at least factory supplied and maybe dealer fitted, top box and Ermax windscreen/windshield. Also I read somewhere it has proper Enkei wheels and at 16 inch one would get better selection of after market tires?

(Change hats to J.Costa)

From past info the SH line has different engine characteristics to the PCX line and has a little bit more top end power, but about the same torque. Gets 17hp with an after market variator. Then add an exhaust...Maybe Vintaology for a stylist look.

... it's a step-through scooter...
Also know in some markets as Scoopy SH150

The one at the local dealer has a windshield, don't know about the top box.

I asked today if it was assembled in Thailand or in Japan and the clerk said in Thailand.

How is the import tax situation concerning Vietnam imports? Same as with Indian imports? Or is there some ASEAN discount?

Price is 106K down here, the PCX150 is 88K. You pay more for the bigger wheels and tires, better suspension and Honda's linked brake system. Guess it must have a disc in the rear for that.

The engines should be the same; the compression of the SH is up a notch.

It's supposed to be a best-seller in Europe - and they know scooters over there!

Well he would say Thailand. Probably doesn't even know where Vietnam is?

Should be but they might not be. The SH 300 has a different engine number to the Forza 300 so likely the 150 is different also.

It is the 300 that is the best seller in Italy, not the 150. A bit of advertising license there!

Okay, the SH150i was the best selling scooter in Europe in 2010, maybe not anymore.

http://www.motorscooterguide.net/Honda/SH150i/SH150i.html

"In a comparison test with the Kymco People S 125 and SYM HD200, the SH150i took first place due to its excellent observed fuel economy, low emissions, refinement, acceleration, ‘dream-like’ suspension and overall fit and finish. Overall, the SH150 was indeed an excellent mid sized large wheeled scooter, but that market segment is a pretty small in North America…hence the short run. Owners of this scooter tend to glow about it and history is likely going to be kind to the SH150, as it will be one of those rare but very well designed scooters that’s still purring 20 years from now."

Just razz'in you :-P and debunking AP. Honda's marketing dept.

:idea:I find it better to use European sites rather than North American when looking for European facts.

More SH150i sold in 2012 than SH300i! :)

Let's just agree that it's a very well selling scooter...

Sure. Over the three year period the 300 sold 35,000 and the 150 sold 25,000. Roughly. That being said PCX probably sold more than that in Thailand alone and certainly in Indonesia.
