Moving forward, will be a real nice bike once finished ! Very neat & clean welds, maybe we could send some Somchai's over there for training; this is a weld on my DR250, amazing difference to your welders:

Oh my... I don't think I would hand my bike to such kind of welder. That 's really suck! So sorry for your bike.

BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the black and red. Makes the bike look a little more aggressive. Did you also strip down the engine and gave her new gaskets, piston, bearings, sealrings and clutch-plates or is she fine and you only had to ploish/paint her up ?
As for the DR weld, well that was before I bought her, and I got her from a Thai mechanic..............you should hear the engine, rattling like a heavy smoker lung....

Gas tank is Adventure/Touring type. Coz it 's almost double capacity of a VFR gas tank! LOL....

What a strange thing to write Marcell that man has produced a lovely machine with up to date high end components..brembo breaks etc..and kept the cc range to a 650.
Its a work of art and love..i have personally owned 1960s chops that where awfully made and still had great times on them..
Please dont take my opinion as negative but give credit where credits due...
I dont know viethorse personally but reading his threads he seems to know his shit...

Yes, I agree with Tony. Well done VietHorse! That really Looks Cool and I mean everything! from the Idea, Concept, Engineering and the Paint is Beautiful. You should be very Proud of Your one of a Kind Bike. So how does it Ride, Sound etc. Be interested to Hear! Credit Due to You Mate!

Yes, of course,I myself also have lots of concern while getting this bike to be totally transformed like this.
My first test of the bike was just very short distance, around 6-7km only. However, the feeling was great.

The riding feeling was great, I would confident say so. At first, quite strange as the two piston strike to two sides and make the bike a bit vibration. But then when I pull the throttle some more, bike came stable and.... damn, really happy.
I have taken the bike on the city road for around 5miles home. Not too speedy as street was quite crowded.
Bike handling was great. It's pretty light and easy to take it over the corner. Also the seat is quite low, the bike COG itself is also low, so that give me much more confident while cornering than the original bike.
Front upside down forks was great. I can feel it. But the rear monoshock, I did not have a chance to feel how it performs as there wasn't bumpy road.
Ah, front dual-disc brake functioned very well. Rear brake consider just for fun.

Just stumbled across this thread and wow! Absolutely love it. I'm currently building up a k5 (1972) Honda CB450 as a cafe racer project and after doing a lot of the work myself I can really appreciate the work that's gone into this. Very unique and I'm sure it turns heads!

How did you go importing a 'big' bike into VN? I was always under the assumption it was quite difficult.
 
@VietHorse: well done indeed!

Care to share how much the import cost and how much red tape there was? At the post office, they would even look into letters I mailed off to the UK.
A few years ago, I read a report by a biker who had flown in his Gold Wing six cylinder bike. Customs wouldn't let him ride it, not even for a month!

Customs duty is lind of a gamble here in Thailand. Had some parcel intercepted and the officer set the customs duty to 1,584 Baht. No appeal process AFAIK. Was one unhappy guy!

The one time I imported a motorcycle it was to California. What a desaster! Only got permission for 1 year. The NHTSA wanted to crash test the bike, as it wasn't on some list... NEVER AGAIN!
