Some highlights from the April 2019 dinner @ Thoed Thai.
I'm not sure who got in first the guys from Chiang Mai coming via Chiang Rai, or David from Mae Chan.
I arrived 2nd last I think, leaving Chiang Khong around 12.30PM, with a lengthy coffee stop at the Mong Doo Nam in Chiang Saen, a mere 54 kms away from CK.
The Rim Taan resort rendezvous is a beauty & an enjoyable afternoon soon developed, after sorting out the drama of cold(er) beer.

The early arrivals had wisely visited the Khun Sa Museum to get some local history & so appreciate the area a bit more.
Happy hour continued on downtown @ Lamduan's Saraburi restaurant in the main street.

The next morning I didn't quite get up for a 6am start at the market, but did manage to see my favourite monk at Wat Kha Kham to get the Vstrom blessed again now that is back on the road.

and so capped off a memorable up in the mountains to hook up with some fellow riders.
GTR up country dinners are open to anyone who wants to meet up in an out of the way place that you might not normally spend a night in.
Make your own way there & back by whatever you route you wish to choose. The choice is yours - the freedom to ride how you like & have a couple of (cold) beers at the end of the day.
See you all again next month somewhere (to be advised) - but the date is the last Wednesday of the month = Wednesday 30th May 2019.
