This nice monthly Dinner has somewhat faded away so let's try to restart it again. I propose to have a dinner in Chiang Dao on the Wednesday 28th of May 2025. As a proposed venue for Dinner and music with Beer Lao (Lager and Dark) we should have at THE COJON. A sundowner before we go to the Cojon I would propose the roof restaurant at THE VIEW and for Lunch the next day before everybody returns home I would suggest the INTERSTEAK. Morning coffee (Doi Tung real bean coffee) of course at my place and if you want to take a dip in my pool bring your swim-gear with you.

Please let me know your thoughts and the who would like to participate as then I will put a program and information together to fulfill most of you wishes on accommodation and F&B.

For guys who would like to stay on a day I will take you up a very steep mountain road to RAMING tea estate in the hills around Chiang Dao, Rabieng Dao behind Doi Luang you can go easily yourself as very easy to find your way to Mueang Khong.

Excellent. c u there in Chiang Dao on the last Wednesday of May 2025 = 28th May.
Thank you for seizing the opportunity.

Happy Hour at the View

Dinner at the Cojon

Intersteak lunch the day after

How many do we need for a Songtaew from the Hotel to the restaurant and back?

I have low self control so don't want to ride.

Hi Mike, we have no Songtaews in CDAO, but i will organise transport for anybody not being able to ride . If you can accept sitting on Aerox or PCX then it will be easy as long as you stay within town.

Thanks David

8. Boy (my adopted son & housekeeper) will be with us, not on his MT07 (my former biggie) but on the Aerox and make some transport for anyone being incapacitated, he will stay sober. There is not even Grab here....

For ease of access i recommend The View (~1000.-) or the main street facing Chiang Dao Gallery which should be at least 30-40% less costly.

I will wait until this weekend and then fix venues and times as i want the restaurants to stock up on necessary foods/drinks. If anyone is vegetarian or even vegan, please let me know beforehand as then i have them prepare for this too, 'green party' has not yet arrived here 55555

8 more days to go. As rains are quite heavy right now I hope the weather gods are good on us and 28th/29th are less wet as current days.

I propose we meet at the 5th floor roof restaurant at "The View" at 17:00 for sundowner and some snacks. Take the Hotel lift to the 4th floor and walk up to the 5th. Depending on weather we can sit in the open or under a roof there, plenty available. Thai "beers" available............
It's nice to see the sun disappear behind the mountain, so we can move at around 18:45 to "The Cojon" for dinner.
I will not preorder anything but just ask the owner to have plenty of Beer Lao dark & lager ready, they have a huge food menu so we order on the spot. I do not expect it to be filled near month end during the week as financials for the locals will run tight at that moment of time.

As for accommodation, please book yourself though the various sites; recommended from more expensive to cheaper:
The Wes Village
The View
Aurora Resort
Chiang Dao Gallery
and plenty more, according to your financials from THB 5,000.- down to THB 350.- all available, from sinfully expensive HiSo BeeEm/Benz resorts to cheap flea boxes, everything available now in CDAO........

On Thursday 29th for those who are not in a hurry: coffee/tea at my place at around 08:30.
For those interested after coffee, I will bring you up to Ramieng Tea plantation through the MaeNa access road but this depends very much on the rains if it is still passable, I will explore 2 days before. If the road is not useable then I can bring you to a nice "in the woods temple" where monks wear brown robes, wear no shoes and plant their own food and then to a small but nice waterfall that can only be visited during rainy and cool season as in hot season it dries out. Water is crystal clear and drinkable, cool and refreshing as passing through the Karst mountains here.
For those who remain, lunch at INTER STEAK at the WES Village will conclude the Dinner ride.
Anybody who stays on, nightly beers and dip into my pool is a MUST..............

See you all next Wednesday if the weather god permits, any questions, please post or send me a message.
