Gps Maps For Laos

Need a GPS map and have encountered problems in simply getting a map download. Have Garmin Home Base setup. GPS Travel Maps has a dysfunctional site in regard to download of their Laos map so that is not an option. Would prefer the Duvall Laos GPS Map but it appears that it is not available-- maybe memory card only-only in Laos? Any ideas?

I recently rode into Laos and noted no maps on my GPS... This was a bitch on 1st day trying to find my booked hotel in Vientaine. Took 2Hrs to find it.

David-- On a different topic. I am hearing all sorts of reports of 2018 border issues claiming that no VN bikes can be taken into Laos. Also statements that one cannot re-enter VN on a VN bike unless it is in the province in which the VN bike is registered. Some statements about Cambodia as well. Am planningVN- Cambodia-Laos-VN on a VN registered 120cc bike and am wondering if it is now impossible.

I m planning a trip from vietnam to laos and back in vietnam

As i m renting the bike in hanoi (already rented from same compagny) I asked 3 days ago if crossing border viet- laos was possible anywhere...the boss replyed me that:
- " For sure you can cross border to lao with any bike from Viet nam
At now should not cross Tay trang border ( belong Điện biên phu )
Other border is easier."

Is anyone has eperienced issue with crossing viet into laos?
