No, they'll have ABS once the demand cools a bit. At the moment people are ripping them out of their hands - I was optimistic about it but I didn't quite think it would happen that quick and on that scale (Triumph looks foolish now, BTW).

Anyway when the Monster 795 was originally unveiled, the website clearly stated that ABS would be optional. Later on, this got pulled from the website and the informed guess is that they're now focusing on cranking them out as quickly as possible and for that reason dropped the ABS for now.

Makes sense - why would you want to make your product more attractive when you can't satisfy demand as it is. No point as you're not getting more sales, only more people frustrated by the wait.

It all has to do with pricing of course. They had to get a bike in the 400K range to make all those people pull the trigger. Sure ABS must be great on a bike, but it is not a deal breaker for people who want to buy Ducati Monsters at 400K in Thailand. You might get your ABS on a 795 Monster someday, but it is of course going to cost you.

What better advertising then getting more Ducatis out there seen on the streets.
