Friday, July 26. 2013, Come join in a Dirt Bike Ride* to a small village and school north of Mae Chaem, Chiang Mai Province.
Alan Pratt is an avid dirt bike rider and knows the roads and trails of Northern Thailand well. Having made a number of trips, to the Baan Mai Patana Santi School, located in Mae Na Chon, he was warmly welcomed and became acquainted with the staff and children. Alan decided he wanted to do more to help the school and its 100 children.
He is organizing a dirt bike ride (although there will be a secondary route for the more adventurous road riders), and a presentation to the school of requested supplies, equipment and dormitory repairs.
The school is also on the list of needy locations supplied by the Thai Border Patrol Police to the Chiang Mai ToyRide Committee. We visited this school previously but felt it to be a little too remote for our typical CMTR events. We had hopes of finding a way to assist the school in the future.
CMTR has a good working relationship with the Thai Border Patrol Police, and many of you may know Alan as the talented drummer from the band that has played at our annual CMTR main events. So; we decided that CMTR, in conjunction with Alan’s ride (and an invitation from Alan), will take this opportunity to also make a donation of supplies and toys at the school.
Come support a worthy cause “Helping Children in Need”.
*For details of the ride and other information, please visit Alan’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/events/465378510209946/ or, if you don’t have Facebook, you can get the details here GT-Rider.
