Last week, the Chiang Saen Museum hosted an exhibition of Chiang Saen's old wood houses and their families.
It is a project by artist Roongroj Piamyossak, renowned for his first project on 101 old houses and families in Sanpathong, from which he developed the Sanpathong Museum.
He went on to do similar historical projects, recording the history of old houses and the families who built them and lived in them for generations.
Old Lamphun and Chiang Rai communities have already been featured in Roongroj Piamyossak's historical projects, which catalogue extraordinary old homes and their families.
Each house and family has a story on their construction and their lives.
There are some magnificent old wooden houses in Chiang Saem, should you wander around.
His next historical project will be the Tai Lue village of Sridornchai, just south of Chiang Khong.
