He went on to do similar historical projects, recording the history of old houses and the families who built them and lived in them for generations.
Old Lamphun and Chiang Rai communities have already been featured in Roongroj Piamyossak's historical projects, which catalogue extraordinary old homes and their families.
Each house and family has a story on their construction and their lives.
There are some magnificent old wooden houses in Chiang Saem, should you wander around.
His next historical project will be the Tai Lue village of Sridornchai, just south of Chiang Khong.
