So, what did we think of Koh Chang? Unanimous approval - multiple thumbs-up! We had a pleasant few days lazing around the Klong Phrao Beach area, at Coconut Beach Resort
The beaches were quiet...
We give a vote of approval to Coconut Beach Resort... staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were passable, the rooms superb. Eating at the resort restaurant on the beach in the evenings was superb, and the meals were no more expensive than competing restaurants.
The town was quiet....
We went exploring down the south-east...
Unfortunately, it rained rather hard and we were forced to retreat, and take shelter at a coffee shop / Vietnamese restaurant. Even more unfortunately, the power got knocked out in the thunderstorm, so the coffee machine was not working...
Which explains the need to sample the Vietnamese-style coffee...
Then explored down the south-west... as far as Bang Bao which was excellent!
The pier runs out into the bay...
And is lined with shops, restaurants, dive shops and tour booking offices.
Its a long way out the pier to the lighthouse in the end!
Neither of us have any resistance to seafood restaurants selling freshly caught fish....
The food was great... not cheap, but excellent.
