Just ran across this and reminded me that I had stayed here a few years back. The covered parking area next to your room was a nice touch, as it rained all night and our bikes were dry in the morning, and parked right next to the room door. When we were there, khao tom was included for breakfast. K. Manat, seeing that he had two farang guests, went out the night before and bought bread so that he could serve us toast and jam in the morning. Personally, I would have preferred khao tom over the standard issue Thai white bread, but it was really a nice touch and K. Manat is a great host. It was also very quiet and peaceful there - nice for a good snooze.

Not sure if it's still the case, but the sign at the entrance of the soi leading to the resort was only in Thai script at the time. If you don't read Thai, you might have to ask around.

In Chiang Kham for the annual Tai Lue festival & looking for somewhere more convenient & closer to the festival action.

The Boutique 5 Hotel
GTR%20-%20IMG_8892.jpg

A reasonable new, smal boutique hotel, roughly opposite Tesco Lotus
GTR%20-%20IMG_8893.jpg

A cute lobby
GTR%20-%20IMG_8894.jpg

made me wonder what sort of place I was really checking into.

But it was all good - spotlessly clean (Inside the hotel), whisper quiet aircon TV,

a smallish bathroom

but for 700 baht a night, no real serious complaints.
Although on check out I did mention the litter surrounding the hotel grounds.
Parking is not great, under a lean too attached to the hotel.

Yorsang Resort, Chiang Kham, Phayao.

THB 400 bungalows, A/C, Wi-Fi, hot water, TV. Perfect spot to relax along Phu Chi Fah to Nan route and vice-versa.
Gina, the girl on the right is the owner. English teacher, single  and lonely. She actually drove me with her car out for dinner at restaurant near some small lake, very kind of her. At that time I was the only guest at the resort.

A couple of other options posted for Chiang Kham.
For some reason there doesn't appear to be a lot showing on the internet, but in town for the Tai Lue festival I cruised around a few sois & found a couple of nice value or money ones.

The Tai Lue Resort
GTR%20-%20IMG_8898.jpg

"down town across the river."
Jurgen stayed here & it was good value for money.
They have bungalows & rooms

The Chiang Kham Grand Villa is a big block, maybe 40 rooms with covered parking. 600 baht a room with airccon, no breakfast. Seems mostly full each time I've been.

Clean, functional, quiet, boring... but nice soft bed.

There is a pretty good restaurant down a short dirt road behind the hotel.

The Chiang Kham Garden Resort
A resort with bungalows with bungalows 450-500 baht a night.
Location out on the R1020 bypass road
Google Maps

Cosy rooms, excellent under cover parking. Gas hot water system that works a beauty in the cold season.

The Chiang Kham Hotel
an old 40-50 year old hotel & once upon a time the# 1 joint in town, (I had so much fun there in the 80s.)
In October 2020 I had a night there just for fun & the rooms had hardly changed.
