Sounds like you are prepping for a China trip? Do you mind me asking what sort of budget these trips run at (excluding fuel, food). Presume its a package.

The price for our custom tours with DT Travel vary quite a bit, next month we ride from Thailand to Everest Base Camp and this will be the most expensive tour so far in the 7 years ive been going on them, this Tour is $6700 Usd which basically includes everything except fuel & alcohol, we will be out of Thailand for 26 x days.................................we have guides that help us leave Thailand, enter and exit Laos and then China to Everest and return.
This tour is a bit different to the norm as once we arrive at base camp our bikes will be transported in an enclosed truck back to Jinghong in China whilst we explore base camp for a few days, then we fly to Kunming for a night, and then catch a high speed train to Jinghong to get our bikes and head home.
All meals supplied, all hotels which are 3 or 4 star (no shared rooms), usually 2 back up vehicles which are a pick up and a small bus, drinks and snacks availble free all day long, all excursions and entry fees included, max 4 days riding and then a sight seeing day, most of our trips are full without advertising, and many return customers, each tour around 12 to 15 riders.
The distances each day are not big km, usually based on stands up 8am and at the destination 3-5pm, depending on terrain 100 to 400km per day, DT travel supply SIM card for free, Win can exchange money at the rate on the day, I just take baht, some guys USD and change as required.
Some of our previous tours have cost alot less, around $3000 Usd or more, depending on itinary, all of our tours are custom designed by Win at DT Travel (Hanoi, Vietnam based) & Mike Gagne who lives in Thailand
