Yesterday, I had another puncture. (Are people leaving nails in the bike lane? Just wondering). The gas station near the Police training center, some 16 km outside Lampang, called a mechanic. He drove up in one of those tiny old Mazda pickup trucks. And then fixed my tyre in about 10 minutes. Battery powered "Toyota" pump and all. Asked for 150 THB.
Those on big bikes (I had a motor scooter) better take a spare inner tube or some sealant with you at all times.
