When you really start looking Chai Prakarn has quite a few hotels, and for the GTR Dinner @ Chai Prakarn on 29 January 2020 I opted for the Wang Tharn motel

a basic, but clean, relatively new motel, with good parking.

Suk Siri Hotel
September 2025
GTR Dinner # 2 in Chai Prakarn & I decided to try another hotel.
There are two interesting ones opposite each other in the same soi - the Chaiprakarn Mansion & Ban Suk Siri.
I had intended to try the Chaiporakarn Mansion, which was 20 metres after the Suk Siri, but as I about to go past the Suk Siri, I saw the undercover parking and ducked straight in as I was unsure if the Chai Prakarn had under cover parking.

In the wet season the undercover parking is crucial for me, especially since I once parked outside without cover, and during the night torrential rain set off the loud musical horns on my bike at 3am to wake up the whole neighbourhood. Oops!

A bit of an old-world hotel / apartment building.
The rooms are 400-600 baht.
With no lifts, I opted for the closest ground floor room that was 400 baht.

Clean, small and everything worked, almost.

As hard as I tried, I couldn't get the hot water shower to function - cold it was.
Safety cut-out switches, heater reset switches & hard full-pressure turn-ons – they all failed to get the hot water to flick on.
You've been warned; room 102 is the culprit.

Straight across the street is the Chai Prakarn Mansion.

Which indeed has undercover parking too!

They also appear to have some bungalows that may be super convenient.

I always stay now at Anton Place on the connection road to the Arunothai-DoiAnkhang one. Cheap, clean, modern and really friendly owners. Bikes can be parked near the lobby under cover. Breakfast is also available and some convenient stationary if one is too lazy to look for a shop nearby. Price via Agoda was THB 720.-.

Chai Prakarn Mansion
B400pn

I didn't enjoy my two nights. Would not stay again.
Concrete mattress and cave like room on ground floor.
No natural light.
Very noisey reptile amplified by the building structure was like water tortur.
Hot water pressure was good, room was clean.
Undercover bike parking

Now staying at โรงแรมสุพิศ แมนชั่น
B400pn.

1st floor (not ground floor)
Clean room, quiet aircon and fan.
Semi concrete mattress
Reasonable hot water pressure, clean showerhead
Undercover parking

Seems better than the Mansion

Also stayed a night here บ้านพักธนาภรณ์
B400pn

Clean room
Great hot water pressure
Soft unworn matress
Quiet fridge
Aircon and fan
Nice coffee and bar restaurants nearby with friendly service. 7-11 etc
Spoilt by very strong laundry powder scent that really made me want to puke and only one bed sheet directly on mattress Next time I will put my longyi on the pillow.

Anton Pace B700pn walk in price.
Stayed three nights

Undercover bike parking
Semi concrete budget mattress with insufficient padding over springs
Plastic satin sheets
Very clean and good hot water pressure
Room service daily.
Would stay again if I had a rough few previous hotels, but really a clean soft mattress B400 hotel etc etc is just as good if you want to put money saved into different priorities.

Bonus for Anton is its in a lovely Chinese village with good food here and cafe with historic photos opposite.
