Has anyone got experience they want to share with cameras, fitment and technicalities? Either or bike mounted or helmet mounted.

I had an unpleasant experience with a pick-up driver yesterday on Highway 1, attempting to run me off the road.

It got me thinking about cameras fitted to bikes front and rear. Also helmet camera options.

The road rage went on for way too long as I tried to shake him off by slowing down and changing speed. It was a pretty tense moment, especially when he sat right on my rear.

I found an opportunity to make use of the other vehicles as a shield and shook him off.

I use the MUFU V20S as posted in another thread. Has front and rear camera, is fitted onto a glued bracket on my helmet and is sold with various Micro SD cards. I use the one with 128GB. Thai riders love it as below B5k on LAZ.

FIlm quality is ok but riding against the sun gives some overexposure. Need to find the function first on how to adjust. Several fitment brackets available. Microfone sits below rear camera and one needs to use a little felt over it as otherwise excessive wind noise. Comes with easy app for mobile and uses internet connection so you see the front view on your mobile while riding. Taiwanese made. Records both directions automatically in 1,2,3 minute sequences.

Julian please google the "insta360 x5" camera, might be a good option for you. Boy uses it the whole time, makes perfect vdo's and pictures. Costs about B 16k.

16k plus accessories...closer to 24k to get up and running.

Run time is very low.....how does Boy go will long rides?

Does Boy run it off a power supply all day?

I wondering how lthe battery lifespan will be affected by frequent recharge cycling?

(Run Time from Insta360 website)

8K30fps: 93 mins
8K24fps Endurance Mode: 115 mins
5.7K30fps: 135 mins
5.7K24fps Endurance Mode: 208 mins

*Tested in a lab environment.

Also max operating temp is 40⁰C, so that little black camera is going to bake in tge sun, further decreasing battery lifespan.

Just asked him and he said if he records permanently it's empty at around 1 hour but he has 2 batteries, so for him max. 2 hours recording time without charging via powerbank or MT07 Charging outlet i fitted. Heat does not effect it too much as always out when riding so wind cools it down. If idle then he puts it in his pocket.

I think for using to catch agressive people then the MUFU V20S would be the better choice. I have it permanently on and never emptied it so far. When the sd card is full camera automatically overwrites oldest files. I use it mainly for any accident happening or tailgating idiots.

Thanks Franz (and Boy)
I'm research Innovv and the Insta360x5
Agreed, at least 1 spare batteries as I can be riding 4+ hours day

He gets only 1 hour per battery as he is running it with highest resolution. As for lifespan, we can't say yet as he just bought it a week before we went to Phitakhon in Dansai.
Originally the camera was supplied with holding stick which you do not see on film once recording. He bought a holder for the helmet and one for a round profile such as handlebar. He could also fit it on top of the MOTOWOLF mobileholder. He paid for camera, stick, sparebattery and hardcase around B20k. One more thing, its waterproof down to 15 meters.
