Fantastic coffee and tea at Lichae Cafe

Friendly service and fresh mountain air on one of my favourite lesser known roads winding along the Myanmar /Thai border.

After coffee hug the border until arriving at the calm of lake beauty, as I call it. Actually a dam, but heck so good! Passports required for army checkpoints.

Unfortunately now closed. ...but possibly to reopen in the peak tourist dry season.

In any case, don't let it stop you from riding the superb 1334.

Unfortunately seems now happening everywhere and everyday. I always get the impression that touristwise it is quiet like in Covid times. Trying to get a late night beer in some places is now like looking for the famous needle in the hay stack. Hope this doesn't last too long.
