I am helping a Malaysian guy with some information on the HorizonsUnlimited site and he’s messaged me to see if there are any towns/POI’s on his route with elevation which may be a bit cooler.
Malaysia is a bit like here at the moment …bloody warm!
Trip is starting early May, riding up from Malaysia, heading to the Kanchanaburi area then coming across county to me before heading towards Chiang Khan and the Mekong
He’s done Northern Thailand before, hence concentrating on central and eastern
Any ideas would be helpful

Gee, I think he's going to be disappointed if he thinks he can ride above 1000 metres for several days.
You've only got Loei & The Phu Phan mountains out that way for some elevation, and they're all short-day / half-day rides basically.
R12 has altitude for a couple of hours max.
Riding beside the Mekong, where possible, maybe the only other "cool" option.
Wish I knew more to help.

Have spoken with him again, I got my wires crossed, it was about accommodation at some altitude so it won’t be as hot or humid in the afternoon/evening
