G'Day guys. I'm just getting my act together for a ride in late July. Will probably enter Chong Mek/Vang Tao and have intentions to visit the war "museum"? at Xepon. My normal style is get lost/discover but I would like to be slightly more organised with this trip. I would like advise on some must see's in this area. I would like to know if there is a sealed road from Xepon to Lak Xao where I will take the route suggested by Moto Rex. Lak Ha, Vieng Thong, Phonsavan etc? I am 2 up and it will be wet season so Im somewhat restricted to tar but am no adverse to a bit of mild off road (Triumph Tiger 1200).

Any comments and suggestions would be m,uch appreciated guys.

Went as awesomely as awesome gets! Had an absolute blast. Spent the entire 30 day visa in-country and did around 4000klms....full trip was over 9000klms. I now have an insatiable love affair with Laos and will most certainly be riding there agin in the not to distant future.
