I've just registred on the forum and can see it have a lot of useful information about areas to visit etc. I'm happy I found it since the plan is to visit Chiang Mai in the beginning of next year, hire a bike there and take a trip to Do Inthanon and perhaps a few other places.
Here in Sweden I ride a Hayabusa -08, which may not be the utlimate tool on some of the roads in Nothern Thailand
I was in Phuket on a business trip a few weeks ago and hired a Yamaha R1 there. It was great fun except for the tank of the bike become so hot it was impossible to have knee contact to it. I guess this is because of how the exhaust system is routed. The pics below is where I hired the bike on Patong beach and the next pic is my bike near home.
