The klx shock is a pretty good item, as it has pre-load, compression & damping adjustment. A little soft but buying a harder/heavier spring will make a big difference & adding a Gold valving kit & or the spring will transform the OK stock item into as good as any aftermarket shock. John @ Moto-pro can advise http://www.moto-pro.com/ or the guys @ Racetech (not so email friendly).
Type KLX250R Eibach shock spring into Ebay & springs can be found.
http://www.yss.co.th/ these are made in Thailand & are a very good quality shock. They don't mention the klx250 or d-tracker 250 in their products list but if you contact them, they can supply or advise on an aftermarket shock. I personally know 2 guys with YSS shocks & are very happy, one has stock replacement for a little less than 10k thb & the shock with remote reservoir comes in at about 15k thb. Don't quote me on those prices!
