Hi guys,

Appreciate your helps, or sharing similar experience. Tried to ask on Facebook, but seems nobody's got a reliable info, so here I am.

We are now living in Vietnam and own a Viet register motorbike, I want to get any info on how to cross into Thailand with a vietnamese registered motorbike, I heard that you required a permit.

Questions:

What is this permit / crossing paper?
Where to get one? how to apply?

Thank you so much,

cheers

You may need to go through a tour agent for a Vietnamese plated bike now.
It is not so straightforward and easy anymore.
Do you intend to cross Laos or Cambodia?
You may need to be sure of that first.
Vietnamese plated bikes even have trouble entering Laos now.
Cambodia I'm not sure.

For a local agent in Chiang Khong, you can contact Easy Trip.

This was the big clamp down due to the flood of Chinese vehicles.

This rule does not seem to be strictly enforced nowadays, and each border crossing probably has its own policy.

Let me know how you go & if I can help more I will.

Look at this also.
