Mae Sapok school is a very small nursery school located in the mountains northwest of Mae Win (Hwy 1013). There are 44 children ranging in age from 2-6 years old.

They have requested school materials, floor mats, sweaters, and even Shampoo, soap and toothpaste for the children. CMTR has purchased these and other items, and of course toys for the kids.

We will visit this school, play some games and share some snacks with the kids and staff.

For those that wish to continue; we will later ride approximately 15 km more where we will deliver similar items to the Huay E-Khang nursery school.

The Huay E-Khang location is not much more than a shack. Be prepared for a little "culture shock" at this location. The teacher is responsible for the care of 15 kids, 2-4 years old. They need baby sleeping mats and pillows, toiletries, fresh milk and even plastic cups. We will also give them educational materials, a TV & CD Player and other items.

We will depart Richco Motorsports (Harley Davidson) at 9:30AM. Wualai Rd, Soi 3. If you are not familiar with the location you can go on the CMTR website map page. Click for larger view, and click Richco motorsports.

Please join us for this event. You need not bring anything except a smile, as all the items have already been purchased with funds from our donors and sponsors. However, if you wish to contribute, donations are always accepted. I think if anyone has some small children's clothes or blankets they may wish to give to the kids, it would be quite welcome.

We hope to see you on Friday, 17 Dec 2010. Please let us know if you are coming so we can get an approximate count. And remember our main Chiang Mai ToyRide and Party on 20 February 2011.

OK, ladies and gentlemen. This ride is coming up quickly. Am I to believe no one is showing up (except for Roderick who responded in a different topic)? We would like to know so that we may prepare something for you hungry riders to eat at the event.

We hope to see you there; and so do the kids!

Ally; We will probably loop around the Canal Rd. A few more kilometers, but a lot less traffic.

Auke; 4 wheels or two. Glad to have you.

Thanks to everyone for the replies.

Two more coming - Stu & Jolie - Richco or Canal Rd whichever suits you (though we'd prefer Canal Rd).

We will leave Richco approximately 9:30AM. We will take the Hang Dong Rd until the south end of the airport where we will turn right to the Canal Rd. We will take the Canal Rd south until it joins again with the Hang Dong Rd (Hwy 108 ) at Sanpatong. Just a short distance on the 108 and we will turn right on the Mae Wang/Mae Win Rd (Hwy 1013). From there it is 34 km to the school. Feel free to join wherever is convenient for you.

Well it's raining hard around Chiang Mai this morning as we prepare to leave for the ride. We are hoping for the best and will continue if conditions permit. You may call Richco Motorsports, (0)53-274-573 for a last minute update. We have never yet been rained out, let's see if our luck continues.

It was a dreary, rainy, chilly morning, but it didn't deter the riders. We had a great time with the children at both locations. We at the Chiang Mai ToyRide wish to thank all those who participated and donated to the cause.

The schools and the children were given educational materials, shelves for the class room, play equipment, and most importantly, warm clothing, blankets, milk, and other materials. The children received backpacks, food, and of course toys and a fun time with our clowns.

The Huay E Khang school also received sleeping mats, blankets, milk, hygiene supplies, educational materials and a TV, DVD player, and a supply of educational and children's DVDs.

The riders left wet and cold for a 70km ride back home. But it didn’t matter. We knew that some 60 children would sleep tonight with full stomachs, warm blankets, new clothes, and cuddling with a new toy. Join us next time!
