From what Phrathat Lampang Luang, it was a wander into Lampang city for a couple of nights.
It sometimes seems that you never quite finish ticking all the boxes for local attractions, history, pubs, and restaurants in these provincial capitals.
And Lampang's history is such that I will probably never tick all those boxes.
I started earlier with some bits of info here.

but perhaps that thread has become too long & needs a new part even?
The Pin Hotel in Lampang is my cheap Charlie recommendation for accommodation.
The place is only let down by a lack of undercover parking. I should settle on another place—the Asia Lampang—but the Pin location is a winner for me.
The two most important points are the ground-floor room and undercover parking (plus air conditioning, hot water, and a comfy bed).

The beauty of the Pin is the location.
1. The original old trading street of Lampang, Talat Kao Road, with its old colonial buildings, is only 200 metres away.

Wat Sri Chum, built by Shan teak traders, is claimed to be the biggest Burmese temple in North Thailand.
It was reconstructed from 1901-1916 & was registered with the Fine Arts Department in 1981.

Burmese teak traders built Wat Chai Mongkol 1877-1907, and the main Buddha image was imported from Mandalay.
In WW2, its spacious grounds were a garrison for Japanese soldiers occupying Siam.
Unfortunately, it needs some serious TLC nowadays, but it is still a magnificent old building worth checking out.
