Bike Transport needed from Khon Kaen to Chiang Mai

Traveling with the family to CM for holiday and want my Big Bike, not so big actually (CBR 250), to ride a few days while we are there.

Thought about taking the train but their website says limit of 125cc for motorcycles.

Does anyone know any other options for my bike to roundtrip from KK to CM ? Other than the obvious of course

Perhaps someone out there has done something similar before ?

All advise is welcome and appreciated.

FWIW I know many who have sent big bikes via train as well.

No problem taking a big bike on the train, I have done it.

There are many shops renting bikes up here, from scooters, 250cc bikes up to the 650 ninja, er6 or Versys, prices from 600Baht a day up. Would it not be simpler to rent one, and not have the hassle and possible damage risk of sending the bike up.

I have to agree with John. Especially about the hassle and possible damage.

I would add that now and for the next 2 or 3 months there is no need to book ahead. Very good availability of bikes as it is low season here
