Tuesday 22nd July - Brunch 'n Beer - Panor Coffee - Mae Chan.

The last few months I've had a couple of great meetups at the fabulous Panor Coffee on R1089 at Mae Chan.
A true gem with a delightful, relaxing atmosphere and excellent food and service, Panor is a joy every time!

Today was arguably one of the most enjoyable rendezvous I've had there for a while and only with Steve from Tha Ton; however, we sat chatting for a lengthy period of time and were joined by the amazing Ms. Parn, staff at the Panor. Parn is well educated, speaks good English, and is switched-on, smart, and intelligent. Parn sat and had a few beers with us to make it a humorous, informative afternoon.
We started at 11am and ended at 3:30pm, when it was time to head home 84 km in the rain.
It was well worth it and a brilliant day.

Suitably impressed, Steve and I thought, let's do it again next Tuesday.
Brunch 'n Beers at the Panor on Tuesdays.

They have an extensive English-language menu of Thai and Western food.

Starting next Tuesday, 22nd July, at 11am, to give riders from further away to join in.

Indoor/outdoor dining.

Super friendly, happy staff who speak English for those who struggle with Thai.
Miss Nid the bubbly Akha employee.

Ms Nong is the boss and a gem of a hardworking gal.

Already booked myself a bungalow at the SUANSIRI Resort on the western bypass, shortly before joining the AH1 to MaeSai. I expect rain next week so most probably will come on the Xmax as more convenient, hope to be there at around 11:00. Who else is coming ?

Come rain or shine, MT09 is packed, fuelled up and ready...... hope more guys will come....

I've bailed out.
We had a huge storm 4-5am this morning.
The rain prediction is grim.
Steady rain is falling in CK now.
Let's try again after the Wipha rain.
Tonight and tomorrow morning should be the worst if the predictions hold true.

That storm must of headed my way David, 5am it was blowing a gail and heavy rain, the wind has stopped now but still raining at 1130am, it would of been a miserable 2 hour ride for me to attend.

Had nice meet up with Steve from Thathon, he just returned as his better half has some tasks for him to do.
Left CDAO at 08:45 and arrived at the Panor at 10:45. Light rain all the way, for riding worse than at heavy rain as soot still on the tarmac and slippery, from me place to Panor 167kms. Fang was heavy rain but Mae Ai was dry.
Took the Xmax as the MT09 is too aggressive on wet roads and not a joy to ride then. Also Xmax did slip several times at the back, mainly on this huge painted speed limits, lines and some uneven surfaces.
It is a shame in what bad condition the newly surfaced road from the Panor junction to Santisuk in some parts is. Chiang Mai side much better work and much longer lasting.
Did not put on raingear as lower torso is well protected and top of body dries off quickly.
Staying at Suansiri Resort which is very good value. Going back via CEI/Maesuae or Mae Ai tomorrow, depending on weather.....

Excellent both you & Steve are the new GTR Panor Legends.
Had we not had that massive storm at 4-5am I may not have weakened when looking at the rain forecast.
BTW we obviously got hit before you guys, with the rain coming from the East?

Of course u got hit first, it's coming in from the Pacific and moves toward Burma and India. But it is not close to what i expected it to be. Much less storm and rainfall until now.
