1. JOE'S BIKE TEAM.
243649355_kDjR8-S.jpg

Big bike service. Tel: 081 8336937

Joe is the popular reliable farang bike mechanic in Chiang Mai, & he's been at it for 20 years, so knows his way around.

He started (with Walter Fenske from Siam Enduro) off on the north side of the moat, off Maneenopparat, road, moved to Chang Moi where he was for many years & made his name, but a drastic rent increase required him to move North out to Don Kaeo on R121 (the outer ring road), just off R107 the Mae Rim road. There he has had 2 locations after suffering the same greedy landlord problem after only 1 year. His current location then is is on R121, 600 metres (East) from R107.

IMG_4072.jpg

IMG_4071.jpg

Images above are of his new workshop, still not completely set up. But rest assured Joe is a top notch mechanic, he is probably the most reliable shop for big bike service in Chiang Mai.

Finding the new place is so simple. But take R107 (the Mae Rim road) north from Chiang Mai & at the outer ring road R121 turn right & go east 530 metres. On the left hand side you will see a vehicle inspection service.

IMG_4078.jpg

Turn left & go down the soi about 50 metres & turn right onto the dirt track beside the drain.

IMG_4074.jpg

IMG_4075.jpg

& Joe's is on the left. If it is wet watch out for the snot at the gate entrance.

IMG_4076.jpg

Then ride up the driveway into Joes Bike Team.

IMG_4073.jpg

it all looks a bit interesting in the wet & Joe is still waiting for a delivery of a truck load of blue metal for the driveway that was promised 3 days ago - late July 2015.

OTHER BIKE SHOPS WITH PARTS & ACCESSORIES.
Limited accessories - tyres / brake pads / helmets / jackets / boots / levers / cables / chain & sprockets. Because of the small big bike market in Chiang Mai / North Thailand, none of the shops carry a big range of parts and accessories. If you want something they can usually get it fairly quickly form either Bangkok or Singapore.

Nat speaks fluent English and answers email promptly. Rates are very reasonable.

Had electrical problems with my bike last January and went to a few shops around Thailand to get it fixed.Ended up with more problems than before. Then when I was in Pai,meet a guy heading to Piston Shop the next day so I went with him. They fixed my bike and had it running in top condition at a reasonable price. Nat really knows bikes.I would definitely use him again.

Sangchai Panich
100/9 Kaew Nawarat Rd
the Honda Dealer opposite Prince Royal College
have recently (2 months ago) opened a huge new spare parts shop.

291908=16463-IMG_6591.jpg

291908=16462-IMG_6588.jpg

Sangchai has been around as long as I can remember, originally they were a small motorbike shop tucked in the back lane behind Warorot Market, then moved to the current location on Kaew Nawarat. The spare parts shop is next to their bike sales & service showroom.

Pon the manager speaks good English & has experience for Honda in Japan.
He can & does order in parts for big bikes from Japan too if you get stuck.

The shop showroom is a bit small & crowded, but has everything for the locally produced bikes.

Congratulations Richy - it was a good show.
All the best with your new premises - I'm sure it is going to be a winner & you will go from strength to strength.

I came across this great little shop while trying to find a rear rack for my KLX.

No too far from The Kafe.

I had been to Kawasaki looking for a rack, and 4 other shops without any luck, but in this shop I found the motherload. Plenty of racks for KLX and CRF, and many other motorcycles.

This rack cost 940 baht, and they’ll fitted for free if you want.

Acerbis hand guards….Maybe copies! But they look ok. 650-750 Baht.

On the day I visited the workshop was packed full of bikes, because Sa was still renovating upstairs .
He has a lift to move bikes between floors.

The shop is still very clean & the work space organized

He also has some sensible 15-50 weight oils for riding in the heat.

They generally start work in the evening 7pm.
In the afternoon Oak buys parts and equipment for bike service.
Highly recommended.

Too many photos to post - I took over 40 in the shop.
But if you're looking for offroad parts & accessories BNS is the place to go.
